A performance including local wildlife, food cultivation, burlap animal masks, and a bonfire. Garden offerings in the form of edible herbs are planted by performers masked as different local wildlife while the audience’s back is turned to a bonfire celebration to mark Midsummer’s Eve. Acknowledging the unseen labor of collective art spaces, the nourishing joy of celebration and the role imagination has to play in creating sustainable communities, Small Animal Gardening Collective honours those often unseen wildlife living amongst us.
